A music studio in Doylestown, Ohio

Everyone can sing.

Singing is a skill, not a gift. Voice, piano, and guitar lessons at the Blue Macaroon Theater in Doylestown, and online over Zoom. Taught by Anthony Edward and Rachel Caniglia.

why this studio exists

You can get a long way on your own. YouTube, tabs, singing in the car. Then you stall, and you can't tell what's wrong... you just know it stopped getting better. That's the part a teacher is for. We hear what you can't hear yet. And both of us have been stuck exactly where you are.

Teachers

Just the two of us

One of us came up through theater, the other through a music degree in Nashville. Between us, your style is probably covered.

Anthony Edward, headshot

Anthony Edward

Voice · Guitar · co-founder

Anthony is a working actor and singer, a tenor, mostly in musicals. Thirty-one productions and 270-some performances since 2022, among them Prince Charming, a pirate-chasing Sergeant of Police, Footloose's Chuck Cranston, and Orin, the Little Shop of Horrors Dentist.

His first degree was computer science, class of 2022. Music won: he went back for a Bachelor's in Vocal Performance at the University of Akron, where he's trained three years with Dr. Frank Ward. This spring he directed Blood Brothers on the same stage this studio calls home.

He couldn't sing when he started. That's the part he brings to lessons: he remembers the wall from your side of it. The teaching is technique first, because technique is what got him over.

Rachel Caniglia, headshot

Rachel Caniglia

Voice · Piano · co-founder

Rachel graduated from Nashville's Belmont University in 2022 with a BA in Music: Commercial Voice, with an emphasis in Music Business. Two years of classical technique with Professor Rebekah Alexander, then two of commercial voice with Professor Sandra Dudley... which means all kinds of styles. Mostly jazz, plus pop, rock, screamo, musical theatre, and country.

She sang with The Belles, Belmont's premiere a cappella group, as vocal percussionist, and with Chamber Singers, an ensemble that rehearsed with nothing but A440 tuning forks: accountability, precision, and a seriously trained ear.

This fall she begins her Masters in Vocal Performance at the University of Akron through a graduate assistantship. Rachel is ecstatic to be teaching collaborative voice lessons with Anthony at the Blue Macaroon Theatre, and wants to give you the tools to show your unique instrument to the world.
